The latest Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer gives fans a look at the Hisuian versions of the game’s starters. Unlike other games in the Pokémon series, the starters in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are not from the same region. The three starters in the game are Cyndaquil, Oshwawott, and Rowlet. Cyndaquil originally appeared in Pokémon Gold and Silver which take place in Johto. Oshawott is from Pokémon Black and White’s Unova region. Rowlet is the most recent of the trio, newly introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon’s Alola region. The three Pokémon’s evolutions haven’t been officially shown by Nintendo until now. Although this is the first official look at the Pokémon, that doesn’t mean it has been the first opportunity to see them. It was reported earlier this month that some retailers had broken the street date for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. That turned out to be a little more prolific than originally thought and full details about the game have been making their way across social media since then. Full details about all the Pokémon in the game can now be found, including videos and screenshots of them in action. Unfortunately, the leak has also meant that story spoilers have become pervasive online too. It’s therefore wise to avoid looking for any Pokémon Legends: Arceus material that isn’t straight from Nintendo. Unless you don’t care about spoilers of course.
Since the game has been so widely leaked, impressions have been coming in earlier than usual. To the surprise of some, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. Players seem to like what they are seeing online too. One Japanese retailer received a 21% pre-order increase in a single day following the leaks of the game. An unprecedented increase in orders.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released on January 28, 2022. The game will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
