Hitman Trilogy Costs $160 For Everything

January 20, 2022 by Matt Cook

This turned into a very pricey collection.

Today, the Hitman Trilogy that combines Hitman, Hitman 2, and Hitman 3 into one bundle was released. The bundle was announced earlier this month and, surprisingly, was announced as yet another day one Xbox Game Pass title. Unfortunately, for everyone who doesn’t subscribe to Game Pass, the collection will cost $160 for all of the content. The trilogy itself is $99.99 and that doesn’t include the DLC. The “Premium Add-ons Bundle” DLC will cost players $59.99 separately from the games and is not included on Game Pass.

The price tag attached to the trilogy has come as quite a shock to gamers on social media. Typically, franchise collections come out at a reasonable discount compared to buying the games separately. For example, the upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is $49.99 and includes upgraded versions of Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The Hitman Trilogy hasn’t included any updates for the first two games or the DLC which is also typically included in such a collection.

In fact, right now on Amazon, all three games can be purchased for a total of $66.42 on PlayStation. That includes all of the DLC for the first game too. Even digitally, Hitman 2 on PlayStation was on sale for $8.99 last summer. Hitman: Game of the Year Edition, again on PlayStation, was also on sale for $11.99 just a few days ago. Hitman 3, the latest game and the one still receiving updates, was $23.99 on PSN, also until just a few days ago.

It’s no surprise that gamers are perplexed at IO Interactive’s pricing decision with the new Trilogy. Although the recent Hitman games are great, it’s hard to see the value of this collection. Perhaps if $99.99 included all the games and DLCs it might be an easier pill to swallow. As it stands, gamers are best off getting the three games elsewhere.
