Hogwarts Legacy Will Launch This Year Despite Delay Rumors

January 18, 2022 by Matt Cook

This great news for Harry Potter fans.

Harry Potter fans will be happy to know that although recent rumors have said Hogwarts Legacy would be delayed, the RPG is on track to launch this year. Reports say the only reason the game would be delayed is because of the large number of games releasing around the same time.

Trusted games leaker AccNGT said in response to the delay rumors, “The rumored 2023 release was simply not coherent.” The industry insider also revealed that “The only thing that could delay Hogwarts Legacy to 2023 is the amount of games that will be released in the same period.”

Additionally, AccNGT retweeted a thread from the Warner Bros Brazil account which lists the games that will release in 2022. Hogwarts Legacy is indeed featured in the list, giving credibility to AccNGT’s claims that the game will definitely release this year.

Hogwarts Legacy was previously delayed from launching in 2021, but it looks like the game will keep to its 2022 date. Warner Bros has increased anticipation by promising to reveal more information on the wizarding game very soon. Several rumors have reported that Sony is planning to host a State of Play presentation next month, in February which would spotlight Hogwarts Legacy. This would coincide with AccNGT’s tweet stating, “I’ll keep you posted on whether #HogwartsLegacy will be featured at the upcoming PlayStation Event, but honestly, it’s almost certain to be now.”

The upcoming open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, will be set in the late 1800s. The game will follow a student at Hogwarts which will be customizable by players. Gamers will be able to choose their Hogwarts House and attend witchcraft and wizardry classes. The open-world will also venture outside the castle walls and include the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village. Players will learn to cast spells, brew potions, tame magical beasts, and even master combat skills.

Hogwarts Legacy looks to be a dream game for any Harry Potter fan. Stay tuned for more news to come on the highly anticipated game.
