Hard Reset to be DRM-Free

September 7, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

Flying Wild Hog says that their new game Hard Reset will not contain any DRM.

The developers at Flying Wild Hog are making their soon-to-be-released first person shooter Hard Reset DRM-free, simply because they are gamers themselves and sympathize with other gamers who hate DRM policies.

Speaking to Ars Technica, Klaudiusz Zych revealed that the game wouldn't come with any copy protection outside of Steam. "I'm a gamer as well as a developer," he said. "And I hate DRM. So no DRM." It's a commendable position, to say the least—more developers could stand to earn good will from gamers in general for taking a similar stance.

Flying Wild Hog is a Polish company consisting of developers who worked on titles like The Witcher 2, Bulletstorm, and Painkiller. Hard Reset is the company's first title, and is slated for release later this month exclusively on the PC.
