Symphony Worlds Announced, And It’s Music To Our Ears

June 5, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

Have you ever felt like a specific song would go perfectly with your current situation? Most of the time, you can’t act on that thought in the real world. In Symphony Worlds, you’re expected to.

Symphony Worlds is a new action-strategy game by Empty Clip Studios, the folks who brought us Symphony. In the game, your music is a living entity; it is a world that is calling to you, its owner, for help. You must liberate it from a demonic foe.

Each song in your music library holds a world that has its own terrain, weather, vegetation, and two-minute day-night cycle. We suggest you try to outrun the night, as danger lurks there. This world also has hidden powers and numerous resources, all influenced by your music. There will be times when you need to get out of a pinch, and heavy-metal should do the trick. Other times, you’ll need something more classical, which is great for planting forests.

The unique planetary environment runs on completely custom tech that can handle tens of thousands of trees at a time, among other things. This planet is 100% procedural and built to be destroyed, and the explosions look pretty cool.

There are worlds in your music library just waiting to be discovered. Symphony Worlds allows you to pick your own soundtrack for the game, and gives you a pretty world with some cool explosions. What more could you ask for? If you’re a fan of music games, you’ll probably like this one.

Empty Clip Studios is working on a Kickstarter campaign for Symphony Worlds that they aim to get up during Summer 2015. Their initial goal is to release it for PC (Steam and DRM-free) in early 2016, following it up with ports for consoles and Mac/Linux.
