Fallout 4 Gameplay Trailer is Live

June 3, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Watch Fallout 4’s gameplay trailer here.

Slightly over an hour ago, Fallout 4's website was accidentally made live by Bethesda ahead of its official unveiling, spoiling the surprise for some but bringing a metric ton of happiness to anyone who's been waiting for the game's announcement for as long as they have.

The official Fallout4.com website is up now, as you can see, and with it, Bethesda has released a gameplay trailer that shows actual footage of the game in action.

It's hard to tell whether the game is being built on a completely new engine like the one used to power id Software's Rage and MachineGames' Wolfenstein: The New Order, or whether it's a heavily upgraded version of the GameBryo engine they've been using for ages, but either way, it looks absolutely fantastic.

The trailer moves back and forward in time – from before the nuclear war with China to the post-apocalyptic wasteland. This is followed by the series' trademark "War, war never changes" catchphrase and some of the locations in the game.

It seems the Brotherhood of Steel, Vault 111, and the Institute are confirmed. You appear to play as an inhabitant of Vault 111 and a dog companion is an option.

“We know what this game means to everyone,” said Game Director, Todd Howard in a press release, “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.”

More of the game is set to be revealed at Bethesda's upcoming E3 2015 press conference. Given the advanced state of everything we've seen in the trailer they released today, we can surely expect them to showcase a live demo of Fallout 4 at the event.

Is Fallout 4 everything you hoped it would be? Tell us in the comments below.
