Amazon Sets Specific Times of Availability for Wave 4 Amiibo

May 28, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Each amiibo will be available at a random time during a specific 30-minute window.

In preparation for the release of Nintendo’s next wave of their incredibly popular line of toy figures, Amazon has announced specific time slots that each of the new nine amiibo figures will be available on Friday, May 29, 2015.

The time slots for each of the “Wave 4” amiibo figures are as follows:

·         Pac-Man: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. PT

·         Charizard: 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. PT

·         Inkling Boy: 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. PT

·         Lucina: 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT

·         Wario: 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT

·         Inkling Girl: 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT

·         Silver Mario: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. PT

·         Robin: 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT

·         Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid 3-pack: 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. PT

One of the most important details regarding these timeframes is that, "Each will become available for purchase at a random time during that time frame." Meaning, for example, the Pac-Man amiibo may be available for purchase as early as 2:00 p.m. PT or as late as 2:29 p.m. PT. Shoppers will have to wait out the 30-minute timeframe to know when it officially goes on sale. However, once that 30-minute window is closed, so is your chance of getting that specific amiibo. Amazon will be limiting the purchase of each of the figures to one (1) per customer and 1-Click Ordering will be turned off. Amazon wants to remind shoppers to make sure their payment and shipping information is up to date prior to the times listed above.

Earlier this month, Nintendo issued a statement to Kotaku in which it apologized to fans that have had a difficult time finding their amiibo figures of choice.

"Sales for the product have exceeded our expectations,” Nintendo’s statement read. “We understand how frustrating it can be at times if consumers are unable to find certain figures, and we apologize for that."

The statement also said that Nintendo was trying to increase manufacturing numbers of amiibo to meet the demands of consumers, but noted that their goals may not be achievable, should “consumer demand continue to outpace supply levels.”

Amazon also confirmed Nintendo’s plans to work “closely with retailers” in better notifying consumers of upcoming amiibo figures, stating that, “…we’re always working with Nintendo to get our hands on more.”
