A new Yu-Gi-Oh! game titled Yu-Gi-Oh!: Legacy of The Duelist will be published by Konami and released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a listing on German classification board USK.
No other details of the game have been revealed, nor has the game been confirmed by Konami.
While Konami is set to release Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain later this year, many have wondered what other titles Konami plans to bring to consoles, if any, especially after cancelling the much-anticipated Silent Hills, a game that was teased in P.T. as a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, and starring Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead, The Boondock Saints).
Recently, Konami CEO Hideki Hayakawa announced that the company will be shifting their game development focus towards mobile platforms (i.e. iOS, Android, etc.).
“Gaming has spread to a number of platforms, but at the end of the day, the platform that is always closest to us, is mobile,” Hayakawa says. “Mobile is where the future of gaming lies.”
In March, Konami silently began disassociating itself from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima by removing references to Kojima and Kojima Productions from marketing material, Twitter accounts, and more. This lead to much confusion from the video game industry and prompted, among other things, a statement from Kojima, reassuring people that he is still involved in and plans to finish Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
