The three-second Doom teaser Bethesda and id Software released yesterday didn't do much to shed light upon the game. Beyond telling us it's an FPS, very little is actually known about the upcoming sequel to the granddaddy of shooters.
In new material posted on the Doomworld forums by user Marnetmar, we now know what the 2013 Doom project looked like before it was canceled and overhauled by Bethesda. Pete Hines stated at the time that the game did not "exhibit the quality and excitement that id and Bethesda intend to deliver."
The game's colors are a mash of brown hues and resemble something out of a Killzone title rather than a Doom game.
There's footage of the game, which you can check out below:
Interestingly, some of the sequences appear to take place in the third person rather than the first, and showcase mantling over objects. Beyond the leaked footage, we'll probably never know what this Doom game was like before it was canceled.
