Hogwarts Legacy Reports Suggest Launch Comes After Upcoming Fantastic Beasts Movie

November 8, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Fans might not see Hogwarts Legacy until late 2022.

When it comes to 2022, there are a ton of great video game titles we can’t wait to get our hands-on. Unfortunately, 2020 and 2021 were a bit of a hit thanks to the worldwide health pandemic outbreak. Covid-19 was the cause of so many studios delaying their video games, and now it looks like 2022 should be filled with them. One of those games that fans have been waiting for is Hogwarts Legacy.

The game was pushed back from 2021, and unfortunately, we didn’t get a specific release date announcement. Instead, the game was just scheduled for sometime in 2022, but that will hopefully change soon. While we don’t have a specific release date just yet, a recent comment suggested a more narrow launch window. It’s reported that a general manager for Warner Bros., Rachel Wakely, spoke with Toy World on the matter.

During the conversation, Rachel brought up the two big launches of 2022 for the Harry Potter universe. Seemingly, the comment made states the first of the two will be the movie. That movie coming out is Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which releases on April 15, 2022. Fortunately, that should make for plenty of content for fans of the IP with both the movie and game. But, of course, this is just speculation right now.

“From what we’ve seen, the launch will be well worth the wait and deliver a unique way for fans to interact with the franchise.”

If you haven’t kept up tabs on Hogwarts Legacy, this is an open-world action-adventure game. Players are stepping into a student given a late acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen the game pop back up since its delayed announcement. Still, we know when the game does finally launch into the marketplace we’ll see it available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
