An industry insider with contacts within Bethesda Softworks has revealed to a prestigious German gaming publication, PCGames.de, that Fallout 4, a title strongly confirmed by multiple sources to be in development, will be premiering at this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3).
According to the insider, who is said to have contacts with developers at Bethesda, the highly anticipated role-playing game Fallout 4 will be presented at E3 2015 at the end of Bethesda's press conference with a 20- to 30-minute long gameplay trailer showcasing aspects of the upcoming title. The release is not expected before 2016, so we'll likely be looking at an early to mid-2016 release date for the game, should it be announced at the event.
According to PCGames.de, they were unable to perform independent verification of the rumor as Bethesda remains mum on the subject. However, the statement of the insider seems to fit what well-known, and well-regarded industry insider shinobi602 hinted at.
We can neither confirm nor deny this rumor and it's unlikely that Bethesda's Pete Hines will shed any light on the issue given his reputation for silence, so we can only look forward and hope that Fallout 4 will actually be revealed at the upcoming event.
Confirmation of the rumor will likely have to wait until the start of E3, which takes place from June 16 to 18 in Los Angeles. Bethesda has confirmed that it will be showcasing a number of its own titles at the event in its first ever press conference, so there's a high likelyhood that Fallout 4 will be revealed at the event.
We know for a fact that Fallout 4 is in development, based on leaks on Kotaku a couple of years ago. Also, last year, a Fallout 4 development picture, presumably of the Creation Kit, surfaced, further cementing the existence of the game.
