Blizzard is starting to give out invites to Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void. We have the details on how they are distributing the beta below.
To put it simply, Blizzard has decided to slowly ease more and more players into the beta. This means it will take a while for most fans who are interested to participate.
If you bought tickets to BlizzCon 2014 or the WCS Global Finals, including Blizzcon 2014 Virtual Ticket holders, you are priority. If you happen to have bought multiple tickets, you only get one invite, sent to the email you used.
After them, beta players are selected from a variety of factors, including your PC build, yourStarCraft 2 activity, and plain old luck. There will also be giveaways, but your chances seem best from opting in.
The good news is they have the most powerful PCs covered, and will choose beta players with PCs of all power levels. They are also starting with the multiplayer section first, so competitive Starcraft 2 players definitely have priority. Mac users are part of the beta, and they will even support all regions with their respective languages, except for China.
They also encourage streamers, and will even accommodate eSports tournaments. Of course, given the game’s unfinished state, Blizzard makes no guarantees the game is tournament worthy.
One last thing: You don’t need to have a copy of Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm to get in. Of course, Blizzard stated your prior play of those games will factor in, but that doesn’t mean non-owners are left out completely.
