Destiny’s Crucible Going Live Today With Inferno Mode

March 31, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Inferno Clash has some distinctions from the previously unveiled Inferno Control mode.

Bungie has revealed to Destiny players that Inferno Mode is making a return to the Crucible for this week.

Expect to be playing these maps shortly:

·         The Anomaly

·         Firebase Delphi

·         Twilight Gap

·         Rusted Lands

·         Shores of Time

·         Blind Watch

·         Asylum

·         The Burning Shrine

·         The Cauldron

·         Pantheon

Inferno Clash does have some distinctions from the previously unveiled Inferno Control mode, as you can see below:

Scoring has been simplified, so that you focus solely on getting kills. Actions like assists won’t net you any points, so you’ll want to do them solely to help mates out.

Bungie has also streamlined it so that there is only one set of Heavy crates per match. Players are incentivized to play with Heavy more carefully, saving ammo.

As if Heavy users don’t have it hard enough, the tracker, the radar in the top left of the HUD, has been removed. This makes it easier to flank Heavy users, and generally keeps everyone on their toes.

Bungie says that Inferno Clash’s tweaks should also compel teammates to communicate with each other more often.

Inferno Mode will be live in the Crucible on 11 AM PST, March 31.
