Spotify Rolls Out on PlayStation Today

March 30, 2015 by Stephen Daly

A PlayStation Plus subscription isn’t needed to use the service.

Spotify is available now for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 as PlayStation Music, Sony has announced. Users do not require a PlayStation Plus subscription or a Spotify premium membership.

If you do sign up for Spotify's paid program, the ads will be removed, audio quality will be increased, and users can access music on mobile devices while offline.

Premium costs $9.99 per month but those with a Music Unlimited account active on March 29th will receive two months of Spotify premium free. New users can also get a month's free trial.

Music on your PlayStation console can be controlled using the iOS or Android app, meaning you can add custom soundtracks without needing to pause.

Spotify is available on PS3 and PS4 in 41 countries.
