H1Z1 Breaks One Million Copies Sold on Steam

March 26, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

A milestone, for sure.

H1Z1 released back in January to mixed reviews. That hasn't stopped it from cashing in on the zombie craze, though. Daybreak Game Company president John Smedley recently took to Twitter, announcing that the game has surpassed a very important milestone:

We have sold over 1M copies of H1Z1 on Steam!

It's only been a little over two months since the game came out, which makes this a pretty impressive feat. While H1Z1 may not have been the most stellar game at launch, Daybreak Game Company has done a fine job of providing post-launch support. The PS4 version hasn't been doing as well, but we're happy to see success in at least one realm.

If you missed the latest patch notes, here's what came to H1Z1:

  • Improved procedural spawners to make zombies more populous around high-player-traffic areas.
  • LOD’s (Level of Detail) added to vans, cabinets, and weapon shelves
  • Added fixed emote key-bindings for new emotes
  • Added new locations for weapon spawns
  • Fixed glow-in-the-dark map object
  • Adjustments to firing animations
  • Adjustments to a few textures and collision objects
  • Prepared data for Oceanic servers (AU)
