Batman Arkham Knight Gets New Release Date, New Trailer

March 23, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

This seven minutes of footage was taken on the PlayStation 4.

Batman Arkham Knight’s release date has been moved to June 23, 2015, as a new trailer is released.

This new release date is effective worldwide, and presumably, will be the release date for all platforms. This includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The last time Warner Bros changed the date, it was at June 2, 2015. Perhaps Warner saw it worth the effort to give the game a universal launch date across all platforms?

I think there’s an additional possibility for the delay. As we know, Valve is set to officially launch their SteamOS / Steam Machines products in the markets soon. It may be the case that Warner is privy to how soon Steam Machines will actually be out in stores, and has worked with Valve to ensure the native Linux port of the game will release on the same date for parity’s sake.

Warner has also released a new video, the longest yet, and captured from the PlayStation 4.

The video starts with Bruce and Commissioner Gordon talking about the possibility Scarecrow will release gas throughout the city. Funnily enough, Gordon calls in with Barbara to tell her he’s OK, only for Bruce to talk to her moments later as Oracle.

We are then thrown into gameplay, as Bruce randomly hears conversations before dropping into Gotham to bust a few heads.

Batman rescues a police officer, and then goes chasing after a military vehicle to investigate how they got the technology. He interrogates the driver for intel before breaking his arm, and then shares a sample of the toxin with Barbara, before chasing after Scarecrow again.
