There's a new game currently seeking funding on Kickstarter called Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander. Now before you close the page and move on to a different news story, you should probably hear the developers out first.
As you can see from the video above, Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander is a rogue-like sci-fi strategy survival game in which you take charge of a space station. It features base building, tactical combat, crew management, and all the emergent storytelling that comes with the genre.
The developers say that the game is inspired by the likes of FTL, Master of Orion, and Star Control. What's not to like?
Massive Damage Inc. isn't even looking for a lot of money to fund the game's development. It's mostly done: but they need $40,000 Canadian (which is about $31,000 USD) to finish the game. If you pledge $12 (or $15 CAD) you'll get a copy of the game sometime in December. That's not too bad.
