NIS America revealed the pending localization and releases of three games, Rodea the Sky Soldier, Danganropa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, and Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, in a livestream earlier today. You can watch the trailer for Rodea above.
We already know about Rodea the Sky Soldier, the long fabled flying action game from Yuji Naka, long thought cancelled by Kadokawa Games. Prope was developer, and Kadokawa Japanese publisher, and NIS worked out a deal to bring the Wii U and 3DS versions to the West. While the Japanese Wii U retail version will have the Wii version bundled in, it’s not clear at the moment if NIS will be bringing the Wii version stateside, or if they will do so in the same way. Rodea will be released in North America and Europe this fall.
Danganropa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls is set in between
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Society has broken down, and you play two heroines, Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa, in their attempt to escape Towa City. Komaru is the younger sister of Trigger Happy Havoc‘s original protagonist, Makoto. This one is a spinoff, so you’ll actually be playing it as a 3rd person shooter. You’re armed with a Hacking Gun to take on the onslaught of Monokumas, and will be solving multiple puzzles and riddles along the way. Coming from Spike Chunsoft, Ultra Despair Girls will be released to the PlayStation Vita North America and Europe in the fall.
Finally, Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, a sci fi dungeon crawler RPG from Experience Inc and Cyberfront, has been delayed from April to June. You play the Xth squad, mandated by the government’s Code Physics Agency to take on the genetically engineered threat called the Variants, as well as investigate the appearances of portals into a mysterious dimension called the Abyss. The game will go to Europe on June 5 and North American on June 9.
