Nintendo has posted a new trailer for its steampunk alt-history game in which the forces of Abe Lincoln’s America fend off an invasion of space aliens. Codename STEAM is utterly nonsensical, and that’s just the way we like it.
The game’s visuals come in a unique comic book style and cel-shaded art.
Codename STEAM is set for release as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive title with turn-based strategy mechanics. Developed by Japanese studio Intelligent Design (not to be confused with the religious pseudo-scientific belief), which also developed the Fire Emblem series of games, Codename STEAM will be out on March 13 in North America and elsewhere in the world in May.
