Star Wars Battlefront 3, Battlefield Hardline Getting Battlelog

February 9, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

While Hardline getting the feature is not really a surprise, that Battlefront will get it is.

Battlelog has been confirmed for Battlefield Hardline, and more importantly, Star Wars Battlefront 3.

This was revealed by Swedish EA studio Eprise, formerly known as ESN on their official site.

As you may already know, Battlelog serves as the social and mobile layer for the Battlefield series, adding functionality for the game that you can access on your phones and tablets. From your mobile device, you can track your progress, activate a minimap, customize loadouts, join servers remotely, and play commander mode.

While Hardline getting the feature is not really a surprise, that Battlefront will get it is. Of course, it’s an indication that EA is confident with the application’s functionality, enough that they would use it for a major game like this.

However, not all fans like the application. As you can see in this discussion, the merits of the system are up for debate, and some will actively not buy Battlefront if the game has it. The main point of contention here is the remote join servers feature. It requires you to reload every time you want to switch servers, and if you don’t have fast ISP speeds, it becomes a terrible experience.

Do you like Battlelog or not? Do you think EA bringing the feature to Star Wars Battlefront is a good idea or not? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Battlefield Hardline will be releasing March 17 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows. Star Wars Battlefront 3 will be releasing late-2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
