Evolve Day One Patch Adds Elite Skins, Optimizations, and Fixes

February 9, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The developers of Evolve are releasing a day one patch for the game’s release this week.

Major changes are coming to Evolve, and the game’s not even out yet.

Fans of the game who’ve already experienced Evolve in its open beta can expect to see some big improvements coming to the game upon its release thanks to a Day One patch that its developers are working on ahead of the game’s debut on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this week.

Here’s what’s in store, in point-by-point form:

Balancing tweaks

The game is being constantly adjusted for balance as its developers intend to finely tune the competitive/cooperative game for the enjoyment of both Monsters and Hunters. A lot of the data gathered from the so-called “Big Alpha” and Open Beta weekends are being implemented into the full version of the game.

Game and level-loading optimizations

Anyone who’s played the alpha and beta can attest to the long loading times. This has been fixed with the Day One patch.

General bug fixes

You saw this coming.

New Elite skins

While the game’s customization can’t honestly be described as “extensive” (this is a problem, as I noted in my article about the game’s longevity), some modicum of customization exists in the game in the form of Elite skins for both Hunters and Monsters that players can unlock by earning them.

Connectivity to the Evolve Hunters Quest App

Not something to really care about, but if you have a phone and would like to watch overhead match replays through the app, the patch should aid connectivity between your game’s account and the app itself, which is free for the iOS, Windows Phone and Android.
