Morrowind Watercolored Mod Revamps and Revitalizes the Game

February 8, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

This mod for Morrowind aims to revitalize the original game with all new textures.

A newly released mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (yes, that old game) aims to provide a fresh new visual experience for players by replacing every single texture in the game with a watercolored look.

Every single texture has received a revamp, and was created by doubling the size of the vanilla textures and applying the watercolor effect.

The mod’s creator, PeterBitt, writes: “Because of the usage of vanilla textures this mod looks quite consistent and harmonic. From a little distance the mod looks very similar to the original game, but the watercolor effect you see up close goes surprisingly well with the low poly meshes and Morrowind's hand painted look.”

Check out the gallery of screenshots for further impressions. Be sure to zoom in, or it might look like the vanilla version of the game.

The watercolor mod is compatible with a variety of other Morrowind mods, provided you download the compatibility patches in the downloads section. Further details about the mod can be found on the Nexusmods website here.
