Battlefield Hardline will Use Battlefield 4’s Resolution Settings on PS4 and Xbox One

February 3, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Will the shooter be 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PS4?

Battlefield Hardline may not hit its 1080p target on PS4 or Xbox One, according to a new statement from EA.

Contacted by Games.on.net, an EA spokesperson commented that Visceral's goal is to have the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the cops vs. robbers shooter "playing at 60 FPS using the same resolution settings as [Battlefield 4]".

The Xbox One version of Battlefield 4 ran at 720p while the PS4 version came in at 900p, both somewhat lower than the 1080p promised for Hardline.

At E3 last year, Sony's Adam Boyes said Hardline would run at 1080p and 60fps on PS4, but the initial beta clocked only 900p. Visceral later hinted that the Xbox One version "should" reach the 1080p target as well.

Xbox One players in the current beta have complained about sub-720p textures on Reddit.
