Slipped in towards the end of yesterday's Nintendo Direct and not getting much attention around the web afterwards was a surprising trailer for a new third-person shooter coming to 3DS eShop. It's called IronFall, and it's being developed by an independent team of tech wizards known as VD-dev.
VD-dev has produced several games for Nintendo handhelds over the years, and though none have exactly lit up the sales charts, each game has had something in common: They are technical masterpieces. While Rockstar was returning to the top-down view for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on DS, VD-dev was working on a full 3D, open-world adventure running at 60 frames per second called C.O.P. The Recruit. Whether or not IronFall is praised for its gameplay, it'll definitely be praised for its looks.
IronFall will hit 3DS eShop in February.
