Evolve Developers Shave their Charity Beards as Game Goes Gold

January 8, 2015 by Stephen Daly

The beta kicks off next week on Xbox One.

Turtle Rock Studios' Evolve has gone gold one month ahead of its release, and the development team has ended their commitment not to shave their beards or cut their hair until their progress got to this point.

For every inch grown, 227.5 inches in total, Turtle Rock is going to donate $50 to the charity Child's Play and publisher 2K Games will match the donation for a combined total of $22,750, Game Informer reports.

It was recently confirmed that there is in fact a solo mode in the game.

Evolve is set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 10th, and an open beta is set to being next week on Xbox One from January 15th before coming to PC and PS4.

Turtle Rock has also released the game's opening cinematic which you can see below.
