For a minute there, I thought that Metal Gear Solid V would be a super serious departure from the tongue-in-cheek humor that the series is well known for. I should have been resting easy, confident in the knowledge that series director Hideo Kojima wouldn't leave us hanging like that. Enter the Chicken Hat!
Revealed during the end of a Christmas Day livestream, the Chicken Hat is this game's version of Nintendo's "Super Guide." If you fail a mission one too many times, you'll be asked if you want to wear the Chicken Hat. Once equipped, you will become nearly invisible to all your enemies. I suspect that they actually can see you, but they are so embarassed by your choice of headgear that they pretend like you aren't even there!
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will hit Windows, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in 2015.
