The Evil Within DLC Will Answer (Some) of Your Questions

December 11, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Players will take on the role of Juli in The Assignment and The Consequence.

Bethesda has detailed the first DLC for Tango Gameworks' The Evil Within, which will answer some of the questions players have about the game's ending.

Titled The Assignment, this is the first content of the three-part Season Pass for the game, and while there's currently no firm release date, Bethesda says it will be released in early 2015. The Assignment will cast players as Detective Castellanos’ enigmatic partner, Juli Kidman, and is the first of two DLCs focusing on the character.

The second DLC revolving around Juli is The Consequence, while the third and final DLC is known as The Keeper, both will be detailed next year.

Tango Gameworks’ John Johanas discussed the DLC with Bethesda, saying "Early on, we listed the things that we wanted to answer and ones we wanted to keep open and worked around that. We definitely leave some of the mysteries open, but I feel we shed a lot of light on the lore of Ruvik, STEM, and the characters while asking (and answering) a whole new set of questions regarding Juli and her mission."

Describing Juli's story as "a bit more personal" than Sebastian's, Johanas says the character is "much livelier" and adds that players can expect some banter as they proceed through the DLC.

Bethesda also released a short teaser on their Instagram account for the DLC, which you can watch here.
