Dying Light Opening Cinematic is Here

December 10, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Are you ready?

If you never got the opportunity to play Dead Island during the last console generation, you might have missed one of developer Techland's best games yet. The title was extremely buggy when it first came out, but that didn't stop gamers from enjoying the awesome graphics and combat of the game. The combat system wasn't even that intricate, but damn if it didn't feel good to slice a zombie's head or arm off with a machete.

Fans of Techland will be glad to know the the company didn't just fall off the face of the Earth. Though their visibility has been considerably low since Dead Island's release, we'll have to cut them some slack, as they've been hard at work creating Dying Light. Dying Light is basically another zombie-slasher, but on new and shiny eighth-generation technology.

Earlier today, a new trailer was released for Dying Light. It's basically a bunch of faux news casts from the game, detailing the recent outbreak of the 'Harran' virus. Terrified newscasters talk about how its spreading and quarantines are being initiated. While there's no actual gameplay in the video, one thing you can walk away with is that you might have human enemies. If your character is stuck in a quarantine zone, then whose to say you won't be looked at as infected?

That's just speculation, but what you can expect from Dying Light is one of the best 'zombie' games of this generation. While that might be a pretty bold statement, it appears Techland has been focused on this for a while now. If that wasn't enough, then just remember how strong a title Dead Island was without the initial bugginess.
