Minecraft is arguably one of the biggest games of our generation. Its presence has pervaded more platforms than I care to count. The game offers players a myriad of different creative tools, and does so in an easy-to-digest way. Games with complicated building blocks like LittleBigPlanet can be less accessible. With Minecraft, it's fairly easy to jump in and start creating; I made a mud treehouse in my first five minutes in the game world. It was ugly, but hey – I made something.
Other users have concocted huge developments. In this list, we showed you what some of the best adventure maps in Minecraft looked like. These are maps with certain tasks available to players. They also have a danger level that is higher than normal, with creatures that are out to get you. In Minecraft's normal game world, these creatures are – for the most part – simply roaming around.
With the holidays on our doorstep, Minecraft is looking to turn things a bit more festive. Starting on December 10, players will be able to buy into the Minecraft Festive Mash-Up Pack. The pack will cost you around $2.99, and offers items like a holiday-themed texture pack, 36 brand-new skins and new music by C418.
This wintery pack is confirmed for Xbox 360 and Xbox One users, currently. We're sure that it'll be announced for other platforms soon – maybe even later today. Everyone needs to enjoy the festivities of Christmas, even in the virtual world of Minecraft!
