‘Massive Progress’ is Being Made on Gears of War for Xbox One

December 5, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Gears of War for Xbox One remains in development.

A Gears of War game is currently in development at Black Tusk, but aside from confirming its development, Microsoft has refused to elaborate on what’s going on with the game. The game’s latest update comes from Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who stated that the team working on the game has made “massive progress.”

Great day yesterday with @blacktuskstudio and @GearsViking , always inspiring. Team is making massive progress.

The game will be the first entry in the long-running franchise to be developed by a studio outside of Epic Games or its subsidiary, People Can Fly. The game’s series producer, Rod Fergusson (@GearsViking) jumped to Microsoft to oversee its development.

The game is not expected to make a showing at the upcoming The Game Awards 2014, and Microsoft has hinted that the game’s earliest showing will be at E3 2015.

The as-yet-unnamed Gears of War title is expected to be released exclusively for the Xbox One.
