Rodea the Sky Soldier: Wii U, 3DS Versions Slightly Different from Wii Version

November 28, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Current builds have been expanded with customization elements.

Earlier this week, Kadokawa Games held a briefing to discuss the revived Rodea the Sky Soldier. The details, which were related to us via Nintendo Everything, shed some light on story elements as well as minor changes from the original Wii build.

At the start, the hero Rodea has lost his memory and will regain it over time as he battles the game's Tokyo Tower-sized bosses. Throughout his quest, he will receive support from the heroine, the girl named Ion whom we have seen in the trailer.

The Wii U and 3DS versions are fairly identical, save for the use of stereoscopic 3D on the handheld. However, both are slightly different from the Wii version which, as you may recall, will be included as a bonus disc alongside the Wii U build. The current versions have customization elements through use of items which can be used to grow Rodea, while the Wii version lacks those elements and is more of a pure action game.

Rodea the Sky Soldier will arrive in Japan in Spring 2015 for Wii U and 3DS. No Western localization has been announced yet.
