The Legend of Zelda Wii U: Graphics Have Been Improved Since E3

November 13, 2014 by Tony Ponce

We might have to wait until E3 2015 for more information, though.

Nintendo tickled fans' curiosity during this year's E3 when it showed off teaser footage of the new mainline The Legend of Zelda for Wii U. The Internet has since gone to work breaking down everything it could find in the short clip, and in particular highlighting the seemingly deliberate connections to Studio Ghibli's masterpiece film, Princess Mononoke. But when it comes to more solid information, we may have to sit tightly until next E3.

In a new interview with Famitsu as relayed via Nintendo Everything, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma mentioned that more comprehensive details would have to wait until the summer. However, he did say that game has been spruced up visually since we last saw it:

Now it looks more amazing than what was shown at E3.

He also talked about the enemy featured in the trailer and how it's unlike any enemy we've encountered in previous Zelda games. This is certainly shaping up to be a much different Zelda — it's a vast, open-world adventure that aims to cut down on the intrusive tutorials that have crept into the series over the years. What other surprises are in store?

The Legend of Zelda Wii U is tentatively scheduled for release in 2015.
