Kirby and the Rainbow Curse Arrives for Wii U on February 13, 2015

November 13, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Here are some new screens in the meantime.

During the recent Nintendo Direct, we learned that the new Wii U Kirby game, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, would arrive in February of next year. Thanks to a post on Nintendo's Facebook page, we now have a more solid date: February 13, 2015.

Rainbow Curse is a follow-up to Kirby: Canvas Curse that was released on DS in 2005. Rather than control Kirby directly, you will use the GamePad to draw lines for the pink puff to roll across. To properly exploit the power of the Wii U hardware, the game has been given a claymation theme that looks real enough to squish your fingers into. You can check out some of the art in the above new set of (sadly not hi-res) screens.

The game will also offer four-player co-op, in which the GamePad user continues to manipulate Kirby while the other three players focus on the main TV and directly control different Waddle Dees. The Waddle Dees can pick up items Kirby has missed or even carry him across the stage.
