Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.2 Looks to Improve Clan Management

November 13, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Diablo 3 is getting a new patch addressing some minor issues with clan management.

It's pretty amazing to think that when Diablo 3 came out, it was a huge mess. Servers were lagging and players were experiencing lots of glitches. Now that we've put a lot of time in between ourselves and the title's launch, it's obvious just how far the game has come. Blizzard Entertainment has done a fine job in keeping the game up to date.

They aren't stopping anytime soon, either. Diablo 3 is slated to receive Patch 2.1.2 very soon. According to one developer, the Public Test Realm for this patch will be going live later this month.

"The PTR for patch 2.1.2 is not yet available. We're looking to launch it sometime this month (which may change depending on our development schedule). When the PTR does go live, we'll post our usual "PTR Now Available" message on the front page and on the current set of PTR patch notes."

The patch will bring some interesting clan management tools to the mix. These tools have been available in World of Warcraft for some time now, which makes us wonder why it's taken so long to implement.

"The ability to see how long a clan member has been offline is coming in the PTR for patch 2.1.2, along with the ability to sort clan members by offline duration (as well as some other social improvements). Keep an eye on the upcoming notes for patch 2.1.2, and let us know what you think of these new features on the PTR!"

Also available in the next patch are new legendary gems. These gems are subject to change over the course of their in the Public Test Realm.

"The new Legendary Gems are a work in progress, and the numbers you saw during our BlizzCon panels will likely change over time as players test them on the PTR server, and as we continue collecting feedback from the community"

Lastly, there will be some ancient legendary weapons made available for players to chase after. Apparently, Blizzard hasn't decided just how rare or powerful these items will be just yet.

"While we can't say for sure how rare they'll be just yet (since they haven't been tested on the PTR), I can confirm that crafted Legendary and Set items will have a chance to roll as Ancient items, regardless of the difficulty in which you're crafting."
