Capcom Made a Luigi’s Mansion Arcade Game

November 4, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Location test was run in Japan over Halloween weekend.

Pokken Tournament isn't the only arcade game adapted from a Nintendo property to be cooking in the oven. Capcom is trying its hand on bringing the ghost-busting action of Luigi's Mansion to Japanese arcade goers.

From October 30 through November 3, Capcom held location tests throughout the country for the simply titled Luigi Mansion Arcade. The cabinet appears to be one of those giant boxes that you sit inside, like Namco Bandai's Deadstorm Pirates. Players can then ick up Luigi's trusty Poltergust to suck up ghosts light gun-style. No word on if it shares any connection with the recently released Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

Luigi Mansion Arcade should properly arrive in Japan soon. No word on whether it'll find its way out here, but those Mario Kart GP games have been able to make the leap, so no reason to imagine this one won't.
