Man, it felt good to use that logo again. We miss you, LucasArts.
While LucasArts might still be a strong publisher, it was once one of the premiere game development companies. 2013 saw the demise of its development team, as the monetary losses LucasArts had to deal with were far too much to bear. This was one of the greatest losses the gaming community has suffered in recent times.
Some of LucasArts older titles have been nearly impossible to find, but streaming service GOG.com will be looking to change that. In a newly-inked deal with Disney, various games from LucasArts' early days will be made available to play. For those of you who are fans of retro gaming, this should come as fantastic news.
Two of these titles should come as music to your ears: Star Wars: X-Wing and Star Wars: Tie Fighter. If being able to experience these two games again isn't the highlight of your day, then I have no idea how to cheer you up.
Some other games that are on the thirty title list include: Sam & Max Hit the Road, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Apparently, this information wasn't supposed to go live until sometime tomorrow, but in preparation for the announcement, it looks like GOG had already made some changes to the site. A couple of particularly vigiliant forum users gave the community notice of these advance listings. From then on, the cat was out of the bag.
