Insomniac Games has shared a new gameplay trailer for Sunset Overdrive.
Although titled a gameplay trailer, it actually sheds new light on the game’s premise. While we already know the conflict involves taking on soda conglomerate Fizzco, we learn here that the player character is a loser protagonist, in the classic sense of the term.
The trailer shows liberal use of teen comedy tropes, as a self-styled ‘jock’ unites his tribe with the nerds, so that they can all face up to the apocalyptic threat.
The trailer ends with the game’s official release date, October 28. It also advertises a special edition Xbox One bundle, and preorder Day One DLC.
