Who says light gun games are dead? Well, technically they have been ever since we moved away from CRT monitors, as the technology is not compatible with modern television and monitor displays, but that's beside the point. The point is, even though the rate of new gun games has slowed down tremendously, they still pop their heads into arcades here and there. And now, after an eight-year absence, Time Crisis has returned!
Bandai Namco recently held its autumn business meeting, where the company made a number of big arcade-related announcements. One was the reveal of Time Crisis 5, which will release in Japanese arcades (possibly worldwide as well, if we're lucky) in March 2015. A new cabinet setup was presented, too — instead of a single action pedal, there are two so that you can choose to peek around either the left or right side of cover.
Also during the meeting was the announcement that the full release of Tekken 7 in Japanese arcades would occur during February 2015. Home console ports of neither game have been discussed yet, but you can probably count on them.
