Bioware is taking votes from the public to determine who the female version of Commander Shepard will look like in Mass Effect 3. The announcement comes as a happy surprise for the many fans who lobbied for the inclusion of a female Shepard on the game's box cover and elsewhere in the marketing materials.
Bioware says that regardless of the default female Shepard, the original, ginger-haired look will remain available to players in Mass Effect 3.
To whit, Bioware has uploaded six images of potential FemSheps to their Facebook page, with a blonde haired Shepard quickly taking the lead.
Mass Effect 3 is set for a 2012 release on the PC, 360 and PS3.
