The Destiny Twitter Account With the Funniest and Truest Insights

September 19, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

This Twitter account will resonate with anyone who plays Destiny.

Destiny has been a disappointing game to many players for a number of reasons—many of which we detailed in our 5 out of 10 review of the game.

At times, Destiny feels like the consummate MMO, but at other times it seems clear that its developers at Bungie fail to grasp the qualities that good MMOs actually good.

It’s by no means a “bad” game, and does have plenty of redeeming qualities, but Destiny’s endgame remains one of the more problematic elements of the title, which was supposed to tide players over at least until December, when the game’s first expansion is set to launch.

The grind is by far the worst part of the game, requiring players to rely on RNG (random number generator) rolls to acquire gear that allows them to earn levels beyond level 20.

To that end, one crafty Twitter user created the Twitter account of @LegendaryEngram, which bears the image of a legendary head-slot engram as its avatar and icon. The Twitter account spouts nothing but truths about Destiny, laden with a host of snarky remarks about the game.

Here are some of its best contributions to the Twitterverse:

I am $500,000,000 of polish on $5 of story. I am famous voice actors in bit parts. I am hubris made interactive. I am pants.

The best loot farming method is standing still while firing blindly at a cave. No punchline is required. I recognize a joke when I hear it.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 19, 2014

I’m saving myself for your teammate that runs into hordes of enemies and requires constant revival.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 19, 2014

The only thing I’ll drop tonight is your expectations.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 18, 2014

I am bounties for game modes you cannot play. I am drops for weapons you do not need. I am time wasted farming for uncommons. I am a cloak.

If you liked Destiny, you'll love Destiny the Sequel. Now with dialog, character development, matchmaking, and loot!

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 18, 2014

We have ten years of planned content releases and I intend to give you blue drops the whole the time.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 18, 2014

I am a shader whose bright color scheme undermines the self-serious tone of your guardian's disjointed, hobbled narrative.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

I'm just around the corner. You're so clo – ERROR CODE: BABOON.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

I am sixty hours of grind. I am your favorite PVP mode that is unlocked for two days a week. I am a level 12 uncommon Scout Rifle.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

I am art direction without humanity. I am plot without characters. I am exposition without interaction. I am a rare level 12 helmet.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

After twelve hours of Crucible, I dropped for you. I am a rare Scout Rifle three levels lower than you. You can call me Weapon Parts.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

Single, purple engram looking for tall, capable guardian to disappoint.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

I am Groot. Just kidding. I am the same pulse rifle you have dismantled three times previously.

— Legendary Engram (@legendaryengram) September 17, 2014

I have solved the mystery of the Traveler. It died endlessly grinding for an Exotic.
