Fallout 4 Fan Creates One Of The Most Epic Teasers

September 9, 2014 by Stephen Daly

It may not be the real thing but I kind of want it to be.

Fallout 4 seems like an unlikely prospect for announcement this year, being a no-show at events like E3 and gamescom, and while Bethesda might still surprise everyone, it's probably best not to hold your breath.

Good then, that we have something to tide us over until that announcement and the eventual release of the game in the form of Secret Internet Guy's fanmade trailer for the post apocalyptic shooter/RPG hybrid.

Helping to set the tone is the Fallout 3 theme, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra & Andrew Skeet. We see a Vault and Mister Handy/Mister Gusty robot while the trailer ends with the tagline 'The truth is – the Vaults were never meant to save anyone.'

This is a reference to the fact that the vaults were in fact experiments to test things such as social isolation and virtual reality – although why someone thought this information would be useful after a devastating nuclear war is anyone's guess.

You can watch the video below.

It has been speculated that Fallout 4 will be set in Boston, home of the Institue which is that universe's version of MIT. The Institute were briefly involved in Fallout 3 and are more technologically advanced than most places in Fallout games, possibly suggesting a change from the retro-future aesthetic of previous titles.

In June, Bethesda's Todd Howard spoke about Fallout 4 commenting, "I sort of tell people we're figuring things out. We're taking our time, we're extremely excited about it and the reason we're kind of holding back right now is because we want to wait until it's really there to show it to everybody. We don't want to kind of dribble it out, we'd rather say, you know, 'surprise, boom, here it is'."

Hopefully Bethesda will embrace the power of the atom and announce something soon, but until this fanmade trailer will have to do.
