EA Games and DICE have just revealed the trailer for the fourth and final expansion pack for Battlefield 4. Dubbed Final Stand, the expansion is set to contain a host of futuristic toys that players will be able to get their hands on, including a hovertank prototype, a rail gun, and what appears to be a mech.
Taking place in Russia, Battlefield 4: Final Stand delivers four maps that are set in the wintry landscape with a lot of infantry-focused combat.
According to the game’s creators, players will uncover secret prototype weapons (like the ones I mentioned above) that further tie into the fiction of Final Stand and to some extent, the Battlefield series—perhaps hinting that the game ties together the events of BF2142 with BF4. This includes a Battle pick-up rail gun that fires a single round of powerful kinetic energy, and the hover tank prototype, whcih uses eight experimental jet propulsion engines to nimbly move around the battlefield. If you blink, you might even miss a glimpse at the mechs that may or may not make it into the game as usable vehicles.
Starting today, players will be able to test the pre-release versions of Final Stand maps on the Community Test Environment (CTE) with one of four maps available to play per day. You’ll need a PC Premium account to sign up for the CTE, so head on over here if you’re interested in participating.
