Life is Strange Remastered Fan Trailer Offers Comparison Footage

June 28, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Check out the footage between the original release and the upcoming remaster.

There are all kinds of great adventure games out there that it’s easy to get some recommendations on what to play whether you’re after something a bit more current to more iconic classics. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more current and gives you a ton of emotions while playing then you’ll likely find Life is Strange popping up on a ton of lists. This game from Dontnod Entertainment is truly a classic to go down in history and we did end up getting some big news for the IP not that long ago. For instance, we know that there is a new installment in the works from developers Deck Nine, but with it comes a remastered edition of the original Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before The Storm.

Most might be more interested in the original game remastered simply because it’s the IP that started it all and is the oldest title. Still, with that said, there wasn’t a ton of anticipation for this game remastered from the initial trailers released because it wasn’t something that offered a big look at the differences between the original title and the remastered edition. That could give some fans an impression that this remastered edition wasn’t much of a remaster, to begin with. Fortunately, a new trailer was released online to show the work put into this remastered edition.

With that said, this remastered trailer wasn’t made by the developers. Instead, a fan by the name of Violetowy, took their time in filming gameplay to match it up with the latest trailer to give a proper comparison between the two. Of course, there are plenty of opinions when it comes to remastered editions, it looks like there are some areas that fans have enjoyed with the remastered footage so far along with areas that don’t seem to hit that well. For instance, it looks like there is plenty of work that went into lip-syncing and facial emotions. However, other areas like skin textures look to be a downgrade for some fans.

Regardless, when this remastered edition comes out on September 30, 2021, we’ll get to experience the remastered edition for ourselves to see just how well Deck Nine did on their remaster job. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the comparison in the video embedded above.
