Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Features Music from Type-0

August 26, 2014 by Tony Ponce

The currently Japan-exclusive Final Fantasy takes a musical step onto Western shores.

Square Enix is ready to launch Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call in a few short weeks, but there still a few series installments left that need a "Legacy of Music" YouTube vignette. Previously, we've caught videos showcasing the music from Final Fantasy Fantasy I-X. Now here's a fresh batch, starting with Final Fantasy Type-0 above.

If Type-0 seems unfamiliar to you, that's because it never saw release outside of Japan. For one reason or another, the 2011 PlayStation Portable exclusive didn't receive a proper localization. The good news is that Square Enix is finally correcting that mistake in the form of an HD remaster for PS4 and Xbox One.

This here is music from the "Ivalice Alliance," a duo of titles that take place in Ivalice, the setting of several games both within and outside the Final Fantasy franchise. This particular alliance includes Final Fantas XII and Final Fantasy Tactics, which are otherwise disconnected save for their shared universe.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will arrive on 3DS on September 16. If you are attending PAX Prime this weekend, swing by the Square Enix booth to receive a password that unlockes a rare set of Type-0 CollectaCards for the upcoming release.
