Ryse: Son of Rome Headed for PC this Autumn

August 7, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Crytek and Deep Silver and co-publishing the Xbox One launch title on the new format.

Xbox One launch title Ryse: Son of Rome has been announced for PC this Autumn by Crytek and Deep Silver.

Carl Jones, Director of Business Development at Crytek, commented, “We are bringing the Ryse experience to PC, with 4K resolution support. 4K gaming is another leap in graphics quality for PC gamers and Ryse is the perfect showcase for what’s now possible in high-end PC games."

Jones added that the developer's community had asked for the game to be ported to PC and the game will offer the "highest quality possible".

Crytek will be handling the digital distribution of the game, which presumably means Steam at least, while Deep Silver is responsible for boxed retail distribution.

Materials originally released as DLCs for the game will be part of the PC version, including: The Colosseum Pack containing two character skins and two Arena maps; the Mars’ Chosen Pack containing one new character skin, four Arena maps, and the new Survival mode; the Duel of Fates Pack containing two character skins, two Arena maps, and one additional Survival map; and the Morituri Pack, with three new Arena maps, two Survival maps, and five solo Arena maps.

PC players will also have instant access to the Ruins multiplayer map and the Legionnaire’s Trust sword which were available as part of the game's special edition.

Crytek has reportedly been in financial trouble as of late, with Deep Silver buying the rights to the Homefront series just two months after Homefront: The Revolution was announced.
