Tonight, Nintendo is hosting a Hyrule Warriors Nintendo Direct, where we expect the lid on any unannounced secrets regarding the upcoming Koei Tecmo beat-'em-up to be blown wide open. The stream doesn't begin until 8 PM Pacific (11 PM Eastern), so please pass the time by enjoying these new videos released over the past few days.
Above is a trailer for Impa's new weapon: a naginata. Impa is such a beast to begin with, and her latest tool reflects that. It can summon pillars of blades from the earth, burn bright with fire magic, or shred enemies like Cloud Strife's Omnislash.
And here is newcomer Lana, wielding a spear made from wood of the Great Deku Tree. It'll grow roots from the ground to strangle nearby foes, summon Deku Scrubs to aid in battle, or even tranform into a Deku Leaf so that Lana can dive-bomb enemies from the air. She can even ride one of those summoned scrubs and joust like she's a knight at a renaissance fair.
Finally, we have trailers for Link and Zelda's alternate costumes. Both will be able to wear their garbs from Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword — currently, these outfits are only available via the game's special editions in Japan. Maybe we'll learn at tonight's Direct about how we'll obtain them in the States.
Prepare for Hyrule Warriors on Wii U on September 26.
