Europe's largest gaming convention, gamescom, is set to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 14 through 17. If you are fortunate enough to be making the trip overseas, you'll be able to take part in a number of Pokemon-themed events, not least of which is a special Vivillon pattern distribution for Pokemon X & Y.
According to the German Nintendo page ntower, visitors will be able to download a Poke Ball pattern Vivillon. As you may recall, Vivillon is special in that its wings have different designs depending on which region you obtain one. Special patterns do pop up from time to time, like the Fancy Pattern Vivillon that was available over the Nintendo Network until yesterday. The Poke Ball pattern was previously given out in France and will come to Japan later this month, so it might even arrive in the States in the near future if we are lucky.
Other events at gamescom include an autograph session with the Pokemon battle system designer Shigeki Morimoto, a special video message from series composer Junichi Masuda regarding Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and a tournament in which you can win a copy of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Have you purhcased your plane ticket to Germany yet?
