Modern Warfare 3 Domain Redirects to Battlefield 3

Whoever owns the domain for ModernWarfare3.com played a mean trick on Activision last night when they set the domain to redirect to the official website for Battlefield 3, Call of Duty's main rival.

The domain was privately registered in 2009, before Activision had any inkling of milking the Modern Warfare name with a third addition to the franchise. It is unknown whether EA was behind it or if a fan contributed to last night's stunt. Needless to say, the executives at Activision aren't going to be too happy about an attack on their brand.

Prior to the redirect, the domain featured videos critical of the Call of Duty franchise.
