Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Unity PC Versions Seem To Be Coming From Ubisoft Kiev

July 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

And if PC is lead platform again, that may not bode well for those games.

There seems to be evidence that Ubisoft Kiev is working on the PC versions of both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4.

This was inferred from two sources. One, Ubi Kiev’s own Facebook page attested to them currently working on PC games at the moment. Secondly, it is well known that the devs are part of the teams working on both games across several platforms.

Now, some fans are crying foul on this possibility, based on how several of the studio’s prior PC ports, including Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed 4, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. These games all came to PC with multiple performance issues, reflecting the studio’s lack of experience.

For Far Cry fans in particular, this could be a big deal. Far Cry 3’s lead platform was PC, and came with a host of performance options to optimize on every PC owner’s custom rig. It is expected that Far Cry 4 will have the same options, but if Ubi Kiev again fails to make a satisfactory port, those options may be tasked with getting the game in just decent working condition.

Our source believes that if PC is lead platform for Far Cry 4 and Ubi Kiev does it, it will hurt the console ports as well, but I do not necessarily agree. Heck, for all we know, Ubi Kiev may step up to the plate. Here’s hoping. Assassin’s Creed Unity is coming October 28 to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. Far Cry 4 is coming November 18 to Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
