In a few past BioWare games, like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the protagonist had no recollection whatsoever of their past or who they were. In others, like Baldur’s Gate, their identities were shrouded in mystery and it was up to the player to uncover the hidden truths about their heritage.
There will be no such mystery to the protagonist, The Inquisitor, in BioWare’s upcoming title Dragon Age: Inquisition.
According to a Twitter response by Dragon Age Creative Director Mike Laidlaw, there will be absolutely no mystery about your past. Every combination of race and class has a specific background that they come from in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
For instance, all human Inquisitors have a noble background from the Free Marches, but the mage origin involves coming from a Circle.
What is a mystery however is how the Inquisitor comes to possess his or her special powers after traveling through the Fade. We don’t know much about that yet, and BioWare has not seen fit to reveal that mystery.
Elsewhere, BioWare’s Mark Darrah revealed that there will be previously unannounced additional content for the Xbox One Inquisitor’s Edition of the game. The content will be available as a separate DLC purchase on all platforms.
Likewise the Deluxe content (throne, mounts, etc.) will be available as a separate DLC purchase, Darrah confirmed.
The game is set for an October 7 release on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.
